- Family road trip
- Character Generation
- Campaign planning
After a run of game-less weekends, roleplaying is back on the menu for this Saturday. Or rather, the next stage of the brainstorming for the Fortress of Crows campaign is taking place. As you can guess, we are at the character creation stage of the process. I am only expecting one Player, but we will begin the creation of the first Hero.
In all my excitement to resume gaming, I rather forgot what I had planned for my game prep. Despite what I wrote last time, I achieved something completely different. Yesterday, I un-sleeved the old wyrd cards, and selected a new set of images for the campaign. This time I paid a little more attention to the setting of the campaign, and found a selection of air-themed cards. So, lots of birds and dragons in flight.
Previously, I had simply picked out a set of cards, removed the SF and scantily-clad women, and run with that. Now, I wonder if I should not curate a set of images a little closer to the intended theme of the game. I now have such a huge range of cards, I probably could select a set of about fifty cards for most settings. This is a little late for the Fortress of Crows, as I found a good range of images from the same artist. Our Sigil PD cards rather suffered from being all too similar, which would be avoided in the future if I select them better. A plan for the next campaign.
Meanwhile, I also squeezed in a little more scanning. Another set of papers digitized, and the pile reduced.
However, this still leaves me needing to print character sheets. I should probably check them first against my current version of house rules. Likewise, I need to remind myself of the current character generation guidelines I want to use.
It is shaping up to be a busy evening tomorrow.
The Prep in Progress series are short summaries of my prep for my ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
