Writing Goals, 26th December, 2016

Hi Everyone,

As expected I am running late this week. After all the bustle of yesterday, Boxing Day is relatively calm. The boy are busy with Gran, so I can snatch a little writing time.

Previously on Tales of a GM:

  • 2 hours – Primary Goal – Launch short pdf
  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 3 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Website
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • Bonus – Write long pdf

This time of year, household and fatherhood tasks take priority. I was relatively well-prepared for the holidays, but still had a lot to work through. Thus, there was little time for my writing. The long blog post grew quickly, which saved me time. My big achievement was the long-delayed release of The Best of 2015 pdf. This book collects together the ten most popular articles from 2015:

I also had a lot of prep to work through for the Savage Worlds Christmas Interlude. These rules were much more simulationist than I normally play. There were more rules to keep in mind than normal, and I missed the graded outcomes of HeroQuest. Now this is out of the way, we can focus back on brainstorming the setting for the next story arc of our on-going campaign.

Moving on, this week will have another light schedule. The family are on holiday through the week, so I shall be writing in whatever quiet moments I can find. The limited schedule looks like this:

  • 2.5 hours – Primary Goal – Write short pdf
  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Website
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • Bonus – Write long pdf

So, another week much last the last one. There will be fewer chores, thankfully, but I expect more involvement required for the boys. Hopefully this will mean more boardgames together.

Wishing you a productive week

Phil
