Writing Goals, 1st January, 2017

Hi Everyone,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Once again, the boys are busy with Gran, so I can snatch a little writing time. Well, so long as I can block out the noise.

Previously on Tales of a GM:

  • 2.5 hours – Primary Goal – Write short pdf
  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Website
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • Bonus – Write long pdf

The week between the celebrations was lively. The boys do not make for a quiet house. Yet, they can amuse themselves at times, allowing me to snatch writing time through the week. Playing music as “white noise” balances out their bedlam, and carves out short periods of focus for me. Consequently, I made reasonable progress on my next pdf project, as well as keeping up the schedule at Tales of a GM. My blogging highlight for the week was the launch of my month hosting the RPG Blog Carnival:

January Blog Carnival: Prophecies & Omens

This is just one project ensuring an exciting start to 2017. Another new project is the next story arc for our on-going HeroQuest campaign. Our next step is a game of Microscope, as we create more of the background to our new location. I am hoping for a strong Player turnout for this session.

Moving along, the schedule for this week is slightly mixed, as the boys are back to school in the middle of the week. So I have a holiday schedule, with a few extra hours writing towards the end. This is a slight up-tick in productivity, as I can finally devote more energy to my new 2017 projects. The expanded schedule looks like this:

  • 3.5 hours – Primary Goal – Write short pdf
  • 1 hour – Secondary Goal – Run & promote Blog Carnival
  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 3 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Website
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • Bonus – Write long pdf

Even though some of my time will be taken up by the demands of the Blog Carnival, I should still have more time for the pdf projects. The forthcoming story arc requires attention, too. After another boisterous holiday with the boys, I am hopeful for some calm.

Wishing you a productive week

Phil
