After all the rush of FebShoMo I failed to promote this notable step in my writing career. However, now I am working through my backlog, I finally have time to give this the attention it deserves.
So much about writing involves incremental steps. The first publication of a short story in a magazine is one such step. I am pleased to announce my Science Fiction short story was accepted for publication in the debut issue of The Quill Magazine:
The website for The Quill describes the magazine as follows:
The Quill is an online creative writing journal dedicated to building a community for new writers to publish their work; we are a volunteer run, not for profit organization focused on providing a forum for new, talented authors to display their work. We publish creative works in the areas of fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry.
Much of the excitement for this achievement was lost in the bustling start of 2017. However, it was very encouraging to have my writing accepted by a publication, and the process of working with an Editor was very informative. Seeing one of my stories published was a thrilling opening to the year, but now I have to build upon this foundation.
