- Relatively quiet Easter holiday
- Juggling prep time
- Story arc structure
Overall, the first week of the Easter holiday has passed fairly smoothly. Bickering was kept to a minimum, and nobody has had a proper tantrum. All of which means I found a decent amount of time for my game prep. The actual play report was posted and the session outline is completed. As ever, a little more work is needed, but all the basics for the session tomorrow are sorted.
Today sees a family outing, which should amuse the boys. However, this bumps my remaining prep time to the evening. I seem to mention this every week, but there could also be time for scanning tonight. Assuming the boys are not too draining today, I hope to have a productive evening.
Looking to the overall campaign plots, I hope to properly introduce to the Players the last of the major plot threads I hope to weave into the story arc. If this is successful, then tomorrow’s session marks the end of the beginning phase of the story arc. I expect the central phase of the story arc will involve the Players working through these plots, to focus on one of them as their major goal. The completion of this goal then forms the final phase. Doubtless the Players will take a different view.
The Prep in Progress series are short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
