- Dungeon World finale
- Limited prep
- Planning the campaign plots
With no game on Saturday, my game prep this week lacked urgency. This always translates as limited progress. Wednesday was no exception to this pattern. I completed the actual play report, and a little of the standard campaign admin. However, that was the limit.
A lack of progress is not a serious issue when there is no game at the weekend. Yet, this always feels like a missed opportunity. I spent time thinking about where the campaign is failing my goals, but this too is not enough. To make good on the lost time, I therefore need to devote some of my bonus writing time tomorrow to the campaign. Extra reading would be good, as would planning out the shape of the Dungeon World finale.
I believe the Shadows of Ulubrae campaign has passed through the initial phase. The Heroes have encountered the main story threads, even if they do not recognise all of them. These plots need to advance over the next few sessions. The Heroes may focus on one option, or look to juggle several of them. I need to consider how the plots move forward, and begin looking towards the eventual finale to the campaign. Ideally, all the threads will weave together, but it may not work out that way. As ever, it all depends upon what actions the Heroes take.
So, planning and reading over the weekend it is.
The Prep in Progress series are short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
