Summer Gaming Challenge ‘17: Day 21

The long summer break is here, and I need something to help me through the empty days. Much as I love the boys, I need additional motivation to cope with the combined heat and boredom. So far, we have suffered more with rain than heat, but the predicted boredom materialized. My solution for this year is the Summer Gaming Challenge.

This was announced on the blog here.

Day 21

Three weeks into the summer holiday, and the SGC continues to run strongly. A couple of blank days had minimal impact, and the average is stable at the 2.0 mark. I am still amazed to be doing so well.

The range of games is slowly growing. I remain close to the point of one different game per day, suggesting our games collection is larger than I thought. If I had better access to my games, and the boys were a little more experienced, then one game per day might be possible. Maybe next year.

UNO remains the leader, on the back of how much youngest son likes to play it. Several games have multiple plays, as we spread around the gaming love. I am almost at the mid-point, and I am very satisfied with how the challenge has begun. I need to maintain this pace as the deadline for the builders grows ever closer.
