August means the #RPGaDay program is live. We are now in the second week of this month-long series. The RPG-a-day project is hosted again at Brigade Con blog, were you can find the full list of questions.
Which RPG has the most inspiring interior art?
This is a tricky question for me, as I am more interested in the text of an RPG, rather than the art. My problem is further compounded by owning so many RPGs as pdfs, which are not designed to be thumbed through to browse the art. I like the full-colour panels in HeroQuest Glorantha, but that seems to be my answer for every question, so I will think a bit harder.
If we adopt a broader definition of RPG, then my favourite art is the stunning DiTerlizzi illustrations for the Planescape series. Each image has so much character, I just wanted to meet them all. No other RPG setting is so closely tied to the style of one artist. When I look through a Planescape book, I finally appreciate the importance of good RPG art.
