- Dungeon World quest victory
- Another dead mage
- Generic plot prep
Saturday’s one-shot Dungeon World game was a fun change of pace. Combat featured heavily, yet there were a couple of clues planted for astute Players. The main purpose of the quest was to find a fungal cure for the mortally wounded Hero from the previous session. The trio of new Heroes succeeded in this task, although at the cost of the life of the minotaur mage. Mages never seem to do well in my game.
This all means we are back to HeroQuest Glorantha for next Saturday. As virtually every Hero has been wounded, or otherwise impaired, I shall spin forward the campaign calendar a week or so, thereby returning everyone to full health. Although, the passage of time may yet prove crucial. This also allows the Hero in rehab to rejoin the heroband, although it remains to be seen how that will turn out for him.
My prep focuses upon the restoration of the Heroes. I need a range of story options available, as I am unsure exactly which Players are attending. The summer is always a time of rotating casts. So, along with the usual Session Outline Sheet, I should ready several possible story threads. There are several in the stack already, but most of those are tied to a particular Hero. I need more generic plots, suitable for a range of Heroes. This will keep me busy tomorrow, when I have both boys again.
The Prep in Progress series are short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
