Writing Goals, 27th August, 2017

Hi Everyone,

We are now entering the last full-week of the long summer holiday. I am certainly ready for the boys to return to school.

Last week was the busiest of the holiday. We squeezed a lot into the last half of the week, and then I took a couple of days to recover. I need a break to rebuild my energy levels.

Previously on Tales of a GM:

  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • Bonus – Planar pdf

Even this minimal schedule proved troublesome last week. Early work on the long blog post helped me find bonus time for the planar pdf. This maintains my familiarity with the project, ready for increased focus in autumn. The RPG-a-day project is keeping the blog busy. The blog posted close to the regular schedule, which is an achievement given the increased workload. The RPG project runs through August, so the arrival of September at the end of this week brings a further respite.

Gaming also took a hit last week. I was so busy with the family, there were a couple of blank games days. This pulled down my Summer Gaming Challenge average. I remain hopeful of reaching my third target, of playing 100 games through the summer. Two or three games each day for the rest of the holiday is not an impossible schedule. A couple of game-filled days with the boys is all I need.

Looking ahead, plenty of chores remain in anticipation of the building work. Thus, I will stick to the streamlined schedule:

  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • Bonus – Planar pdf

Once again, I need to juggle chores around the house, garden and garage. This is my last week with the boys, and I need to maintain my progress with the Summer Gaming Challenge. A busy week will avoid a last-minute scramble at the end of the holiday.

See how I managed here

Wishing you a productive week

Phil
