Shadows of Ulubrae, Chapter 29, Part 2

  • Reduced productivity
  • Skipped weekend
  • Limited progress

A lack of game tomorrow has not meant a lack of game prep. Inevitably, the lower pressure through the week has translated as lower productivity. I really must find a way to stop this happening every time. The actual play report was written and posted, and much of the standard administration is complete. I began the Session Outline Sheet, so much of the framework for the next session is in place.

What remains is the creative design work for the next session. Once again, the Players gave me a few clues as to where they want to investigate next. Thus, I need to prepare these parts of the city. A few standby dwarf and gnome GMCs would help, and maybe additional notes about the ruling Iron Council. The Players showed an interest in city politics last session, so a few notes about that would help.

If this was a normal week, then I would complete these tasks tonight, and before the game tomorrow. My current plan is to work on these gaps in my prep tonight and tomorrow. Generally, I prefer to complete the prep close to the next session. This keeps the plots fresh in my mind. Following this reasoning, I should mix these prep tasks with a few background design goals over the weekend. This will make productive use of my time, and ensure I know the prep ready for the next session.

I will report back on my progress with this mix of tasks.

Happy Gaming

The Prep in Progress series comprises short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
