- Cancelled session
- Preparing for the Halloween interlude
- Prep around the building work
A Saturday without roleplaying is always a little sad. Today I had childcare commitments, and the need to be at home for the builders. The disruption caused by the building work means we are living very inefficiently, ensuring the usual chores take up a lot more time as I juggle between two houses. Thus, I did not have as much time to myself today, despite spending the day at home.
These heightened limitations on my time also affect my game prep. Since my last update, I wrote up the actual play report for the last session and made a start on the usual administration. This clears up after the last session, allowing me to move forward. As there is no game next weekend either, I will not be readying the next session through the coming week. Instead, looking further ahead, I should prepare for the Halloween special. This interlude will be run using a The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth, another game Powered by the Apocalypse.
The plan is to run this as a two-session interlude, with the first session focused on creating the setting and the Heroes. Running a new system always involves a lot of prep. I need GM notes and Player handouts. I am working from a Beta version of the game, so I may not find the handouts I need online. I expect there will be playbooks to print out, but even they need organising. My plan is to read the rules and begin creating the handouts I need.
Hopefully, I can find time for these tasks over the next week.
