- Boys & Builders
- Reading The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth
- Limited prep around the building work
My Saturday was busy with childcare duties and dealing with the builders. Both were necessary, but neither was as fun as roleplaying. Our current living arrangements do not afford us space or time for family gaming, so I do not even have that option anymore. Of course, thanks to the additional stress of the building work, this is the time when I need bonus gaming the most.
The closest I came to gaming was reading through the rules to The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth. This is the game I plan to run for the Halloween special this year. Given my current slow rate of work, it is probably just as well I am starting so soon. My current version of the game has several handouts at the back, which I need to print. Hopefully, these printouts will spare me the task of creating my own notes for some areas of the game.
My time this week remains just as crowded. I cut down on my schedule, but even these limited goals are disrupted by the demands or distractions of the building work. Thus, I failed to read much more of the book this week. My plan for the rest of the week is still to read more of the rules. If I can also print out the notes from the back of the book, then they may also help me to learn the rules faster. I seem to be juggling so many things at the moment, and game prep is just one of the balls in the air.
The Prep in Progress series comprises short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
