Writing Goals, 1st October, 2017

Hi Everyone,

The second week of the building work proved even noisier than the first, as they cut out the concrete floor. Evidence of the London blitz and a Tudor brick emerged from the rubble. Now the replacement floor is being laid and a labyrinth of new wires and pipes set into the revealed rafters. All this disruption has impacted my writing and cut back on my blogging.

  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
  • 1 hour – General Fiction
  • 1 hour – First Draft Chapter Book
  • 30 mins – Fiction Planning

The next big project for the blog was bumped to December and the top of my priority list. This worked well for me this week, with progress on the structure of the project and the initial graphic design work. I am happy with the start I made, but need to keep pushing this along as plenty of work remains. No big announcement just yet.

I found a little time for the planar pdf, keeping that project alive. However, the fiction writing was not so smooth. I manage two short writing sessions, but this was not really enough. Fiction writing asks for more focus than I have at the moment, so will always be a struggle with the builders in the house. Yet, it was good to write something, and so much of the quality in a story emerges through the editing process.

The early part of the week saw good work on the blog clearing the backlog of articles. However, I then struggled towards the end of the week. I cannot switch my focus on and off easily. Juggling my time between writing, blogging, game prep and helping the builders remains a challenge. If I can make progress on this issue, then my productivity would improve. Looking ahead to this week, the schedule remains much the same.

We should be gaming next Saturday, so the game prep must be completed. I just need to find the right pattern for juggling my workload.

Wishing you a productive week
