- A Writ of Execution
- DramaSystem & Iron Council relationships
- A missing actual play report
It was great to roleplay again on Saturday. The early part of the session involved the Players engaging in a fascinating sequence of character scenes. I stirred the pot a little by spreading a few inflated rumours around the Embassy, but the Players were the driving force. By the end of it, one Player obtained a Writ of Execution for another Hero, then passed it along to a third Hero. This is a fascinating Maguffin which I feel drawn to revisiting later in the story arc.
The second part of the session focused on brainstorming the politics of the city’s ruling Iron Council. This network of connections was created using the DramaSystem character creation rules. I love involving the Players in this process. The brainstorming saves me time and draws the players deeper into the setting. The result of this creative relationship web will make the subsequent meeting of the Dwarven Ladies Tea Circle very interesting.
However, the Tea Circle needs to wait until November. I have to look after the boys next Saturday, and then we are into the Halloween Special. I have no immediate game prep deadline for this week. Yet, I must push forward with the prep for The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth.
My plan was to work on game prep today, but the sudden closure of the school left me with the boys all day. I am now running late with my game prep, as I was so busy on Saturday I did not even write the actual play report. Thus, my priority for tomorrow is to complete the actual play report. My writing schedule for the week is falling apart, but I need to work on the final tasks for the previous session before I can advance onto the Halloween prep. As I move into the weekend, I really need to work hard on preparing to run the Halloween game. It is shaping up to be a busy end of the week.
The Prep in Progress series comprises short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
