- A surge of chores
- Prepping to brainstorm the theme park
- The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth character generation prep
After my success Saturday morning printing out the sheets for The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth, I ran out of steam. The sustained stress of the building work has not been good for my energy levels. The early part of this week was devoted to chores, where very little writing of any kind was achieved. The pendulum needs to swing back now.
Wednesday is my nominated day for the bulk of my game prep. This needs to be true this week, as a lot of work remains to prepare for the brainstorming session on Saturday. Many of the sheets I printed need to be cut up, but I have a small guillotine to speed that along. Once these handouts are properly organised, I must return to the theme park creation section of the rules and create a sheet to walk me through the process. This sheet will serve as the framework for the first part of Saturday’s session.
The planned second phase of Saturday’s game is the character creation. This too needs a handout to walk the Players through the process. Happiest uses a slightly different method to Dungeon World, the last Powered by the Apocalypse game we played. Enthused by the park creation, I am sure the Players will have several ideas about the team of characters they will want to play. Just as with the setting creation, this process is best achieved as a group.
Finally, I need to produce a second actual play report from the last session. These three strands of my prep should keep me very busy tomorrow. I must also juggle my writing, so I need another day of good focus. I will report back later in the week.
The Prep in Progress series comprises short summaries of my prep for the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
