The builders are now five weeks into the project and the delays are beginning to accumulate. I suspect they will complete two weeks late, putting us only now halfway through. My stress level reaches new heights this week as the boys are off school. This does not bode well for my writing.
1 hour – Primary Goal – Planar pdf
Bonus – Warlock’s Journal entry
1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
2 hours – General Fiction
1 hour – First Draft Chapter Book
30 mins – Fiction Planning
Three days last week were packed tight with chores and game prep, meaning I failed to complete even this limited schedule. The fiction writing is a non-starter due to stress and the many distractions of the building work. I now feel I should skip this entirely for the rest of the year. Once the builders finish, we have an intense period of settling back into our larger home before the Christmas frenzy. 2017 has not been the best year for my writing.
The planar pdf requires a lower level of focus and received a decent amount of attention. I am now preparing to print the third draft. This ought to be the last major edit for the book, although many of the newer sections may need further polishing. It is encouraging to reach this milestone.
Elsewhere, the focus was more on game prep for The Happiest Apocalypse on Earth. I ran the brainstorming session yesterday, but it took a big push on Friday to prepare all the notes and handouts. Even then, I missed out one section of the rules. All of which meant the blog suffered last week.
Looking ahead, this is a half-term week and thus busy with family events. Saturday was likewise packed full, meaning I start the week with a backlog. The combination of the boys and the builders will make for a stressful week. Therefore, my schedule for this week is very light:
- 1 hour – Primary Goal – Planar pdf
- Bonus – Warlock’s Journal entry
- 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
- 2 hours – Write, edit & post long blog article
- 30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
- 1 hours – General Fiction
- Bonus – First Draft Chapter Book
- 30 mins – Fiction Planning
I fear I will struggle to complete even this light workload. Yet, I do not want to pare it back any further. I must push through the week as best I can and see what I manage.
Wishing you a productive week
