- Dwarven Ladies Tea Circle gossip
- Players managing the flow of information
- Prepping for a different selection of Players
The game session last Saturday was a welcome return to Ulubrae. The story picked up with the Heroes gossiping at a meeting of the Dwarven Ladies Tea Circle. As expected, this resulted in several new pieces of information presented to the Heroes. At one point all the handouts were dragged out as the Players tried to fit the latest clues into the story. Mysteries remain, so the Players suggested a session dedicated to trying to make sense of the plot threads. If this would streamline the game, then it would be a big step forward.
Tomorrow is another session in Ulubrae, although with a different selection of Players attending. This changing cast of Players will probably take the game in a new direction. Some Players prefer a more direct approach, so there is no telling where the story will go.
My prep for this week has been in anticipation for what the Heroes do next in light of the information they learnt from the Tea Ladies. I ended the previous session by asking the Players for ideas, so I have several options to work from. I focused hard on Wednesday, completing the actual play report and the game administration. Tonight I simply need to finish up the Session Outline Sheet and the improv notes for the next steps by the Heroes.
As you would guess from the general lack of Prep in Progress articles over the past two weeks, I remain far too busy. Thankfully, I am reasonably well prepared for the game tomorrow. One last effort tonight, or before the session tomorrow, and I will be all set.
The Prep in Progress series comprises short summaries of my prep for the current story arc of the ongoing Tales of the Hero Wars campaign.
