Countdown to Dragonmeet 2017: 5 Days

The final countdown to Dragonmeet has begun and the updates are appearing even more often. We are now at the start of the Dragonmeet week. My favourite convention is held next Saturday, 2nd December. The venue is stable in 2017, with the second hosting at Novotel London West, in Hammersmith, London. I do not need to research the route as part of my planning this year. I even remember the footpath up to the front door, assuming the convention layout is the same this year.

I have printed out the trade hall map, but the aged brown finish on the map spoils the black-and-white print. This is a shame, but I persevered and marked the key locations as best I could. When I arrive, I will receive a copy of the colour programme and thus be sure to read all the names clearly. My annotated list is enough to orientate me in the room and ensure I visit the major locations.

After extensive research, the dice game Roll Through the Ages: Iron Age has been added to my shopping list. The Dice Tower videos make this game look fantastic and I will enjoy the solo option. Next up is a worker placement game which is not too heavy for the boys.

I dug out the bottom shelf of the bookcase and listed my MERP books. I own a few high-profile setting books already. I also listed the scenarios I own, which is more likely where I would invest my limited funds at Dragonmeet. This morning I messaged a handful of internet friends, so the list of people to meet up with is slowly growing. Once again, I will wear my Tales of a GM t-shirt, so if you see me then please stop me for a chat.

I hope to see you there.

Moving forward, I am at the list-making stage. I must dig out my planned backpack and check how much I can fit inside it. I probably should take a spare bag or two, in case I end up with a large board game. The middle of the week will be devoted to these final preparations.

Happy Gaming
