Writing Goals, 10th December, 2017

Hi Everyone,

Despite my incredibly busy schedule, December is settling down. My busiest week with school events has passed and I have more time at home today. Thus, I can post this on Sunday as planned.

Previously at Tales of a GM:

  • 1 hour – Primary Goal- 12 Days Dicember support
  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post a long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
  • 2 hours – General Fiction
  • Bonus – First Draft Chapter Book
  • 30 mins – Fiction Planning

The 12 Days of Dicember project took up a lot of my limited time last week. Uptake was small, but it was still great to read different answers to my questions. I hope to spread the project even further next year, but the boost to the blog is clear. I only have a couple more posts to write, which is probably for the best, as this does take a lot of time to manage.

Elsewhere, very little was achieved. The long blog article was posted along with several other pieces. Game prep was a struggle this week. Once again, I benefited from my prep-lite approach which allows for plenty of improvisation at the table. I have the Christmas Special to prepare this week. The Players were interested in my initial pitch, so I will run with that idea as a HeroQuest one-shot. Much as I would have liked to run a different game system, I really do not have the time to learn a new set of rules.

Looking ahead, the building work continues and Christmas is looming ever closer. I really need to finish off the Christmas cards today, and then make a start on the wrapping later in the week. Unpacking the house will be such a rush, assuming the builders finish, so there will be little time for presents next week. Thus, my limited schedule is a repeat of last week:

  • 1 hour – Primary Goal- 12 Days Dicember support
  • 1 hour – Social Media – Visit different Forums and write five posts or comments
  • 2 hours – Write, edit & post a long blog article
  • 30 mins – Weekly Task – Plan
  • 2 hours – General Fiction
  • Bonus – First Draft Chapter Book
  • 30 mins – Fiction Planning

Overall, this week looks a little easier than the previous one. This is a hopeful sign as it means I am making forward progress. A lot of work remains, but tasks are being crossed off my list.

Wishing you a productive week

Phil
