Manchester United will not change their minds on their original intention to let Mason Greenwood leave this summer, according to Football Insider.
Greenwood will return to the Red Devils once his loan deal with Getafe expires. Although his contract at Old Trafford runs until June 2025 UFABET
The club have informed the 22-year-old’s representatives that. They will sell him if they receive a significant offer in the upcoming transfer window.
Although another loan move may be a possibility. But returning to Manchester United is a question mark.
Greenwood has not played for United since his arrest in January 2022 after being charge with attempted rape and assault. The charges were later dropped.
The England international was loan out to Getafe last summer. And has show great form, scoring 10 goals and 6 assists in 33 matches this season.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Old Trafford bosses want more than £40m for the winger.
The Red Devils will reportedly trigger a one-year extension clause on his contract. Meaning his contract will run until 2026, thus keeping his value from dropping.
There is still a lot of football left in Greenwood but that will be played away from Old Trafford. The club cannot afford to bring him back as it greatly damages the image of the club.
